Pause Promise:

We are so committed to our services that we offer you our "Pause Promise". You must be totally happy with our service at all times. If we fail to meet your standards, just let us know and we will give you a discount/credit of the value of the last stay on your next booking to make it up.

Rural Run (mid-week)

Up until the beginning of 2011 Doggy Pause ran a daycare service in Sydney for 3 years and we aimed to have a difference, this being, outside play for dogs all day as opposed to inside a warehouse (as is the case for most daycare centres in Sydney, due to the lack of land available). We integrated boarding dogs with daycare dogs purely because it offered a 'change of scenery' for each of the dogs.

We no longer offer 'daycare', however, we do offer something we like to call a 'rural run'. The 'rural run' is during the week and is a mini vacation for your dog at our acreage in Kulnura. It is essentially for Sydney dog owners who have active dogs which need that little bit extra free run than what is offered in Sydney. Some of the other reasons dog owners choose our 'rural run' package is as follows:

  • Extra-curricular commitments after work which run late into the evening
  • The want to ensure their dog is social with other dogs
  • Highly energetic dogs which need extra exercise and stimulation
  • Neighbours complaining their dog barks whilst at work
  • Dogs suffering from boredom and destroying household items or gardens
  • The desire to just give their dog a fun few days away from home

Typical 'Rural Run' Stay

Not all dogs are the same, each have their favourite game, their own personality, individual energy levels, likes and dislikes. We cater for the individual dog because not all dogs come for a 'rural run' for energy release and exercise, some dogs come for companionship and cuddles.

We have a variety of toys for dogs to pull on, chew on and fetch as well as a variety of dogs to become canine pals with throughout their visit - To wrestle, run and chase with. This happens outside and inside from 7.00am - 6.00pm. No dog or group is left unattended inside or outside during the day and they are able to get cuddles and attention from us as they need it (and dogs do tell us when it is time for their cuddle and TLC).

During the day each group (maximum of 10) will have an hour time out in order to catch their breathe, gets cuddles and some treats. This is not a locked up time out, it is more a 'taking away the toys' and sitting down with them instead of playing (and most dogs understand this and generally fall asleep very quickly).

Food and Treats

"Rural Run' dogs eat and sleep in the same quarters as all the other boarding dogs. We feed the same food as what the boarding dogs have. We do give treats for good behaviour and during quiet time which consists of liver treats and shredded chicken. If you want to provide your own food, this is no problem.
